Relapse Prevention

Relapse Prevention

PROGRAM NAME – Leadership Training

Instructors Name – Tripp Freeman– Peer Navigator

Relapse Prevention is a 12-week course designed to teach identification and management skills of high-risk situations that can lead to a relapse in recovery. This course is for individuals in early recovery who have yet to establish a stable recovery program as well as those who have successfully established a strong recovery program and maintain long-term sobriety.

A weekly instructional lesson with various topics followed by group discussion allows participants to work on building a well-built recovery foundation where they will learn some of the necessary tools to prevent a relapse. Some of the topics covered are: recognizing dangerous situations, identifying relapse warning signs, dealing with your feelings, building healthy relationships, managing stress, and overcoming urges. The conclusion of this course involves participants creating their recovery program, empowering them to take ownership and pride in their recovery.

This 12-week course is excellent for anyone looking to be free of substance abuse, sustainability in long-term sobriety, and desire to find joy in recovery.

About Tripp Freeman

After nearly two decades in active addiction, Tripp Freeman was able to pull himself out of the darkness and get himself into long-term recovery. It was while serving 12 years in incarceration that Tripp decided to change his life. Upon release he enrolled himself in sober living at Hazelbrook Sober Living; it was here that he gained the tools and support that allowed him to make his recovery a success.

Tripp worked as a house manager for Hazelbrook Sober Living and next received his CCAR Peer Recovery Coach certification. With a passion for fitness, an Exercise Education from Georgia State University, a Personal Trainer Certification, and a commitment to supporting individuals in achieving long-term recovery, Tripp started to provide peer services incorporating fitness and wellness at Hazelbrook.

Today Tripp is the director of operations for Hazelbrook Sober Living and the director for the Hazelbrook Community Transitional Safety Zone(TSZ) program. Tripp is also the founder of B Free Recovery Services–a peer recovery coaching organization that provides a variety of unique peer support models to individuals struggling with addiction.
