Mental Health Support Specialist (Aurora, CO)

Provide comprehensive mental health services, including structured therapeutic fitness programming, to individuals recovering from addiction, recently released from incarceration and high-risk youth populations. Duties include: 
  
  • Develop and implement structured physical fitness and movement-based programming designed to support emotional regulation, impulse control, and trauma recovery.   
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions for recovery and dealing with trauma 
  • Identifying behaviors that interfere with treatment and recovery. 
  • Assist primary caregivers to manage addiction-related behavior. 
  • Write reports to court, school, or other community agencies as necessary. 
  • Participate in meetings to devise better programs and share progress of current programs. 
  • Managing all aspects of a case from date of entry to date of discharge. 
  • Teach clients coping mechanisms and how to deescalate. 
  • Follow up with psychiatrists and/or attending physicians in cases involving hospital admissions and collaborate with them for treatments. 
 
Requirements: Bachelor Degree in Psychology and one year of experience in:           
 
  • Mental health services for the recently incarcerated and those battling substance abuse 
  • Trauma-informed support and case management for youth with histories of violence, abuse, and systemic involvement 
  • Group Facilitation and Psychoeducational Programming 
  • Recovery-oriented care principles including crisis awareness and de-escalation techniques  
  • Physical Fitness or Martial Arts Instruction
